Cameras & Lenses

Nikkor Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 telephoto lens

This is used on my Z8 as my primary setup. The fast autofocus ensures my in-focus shots are consistent and I get incredibly high quality shots with this lens

Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 G2 VC USD lens

This lens is generally paired with my Nikon Z6iii for wider angle shots. I also use it for low angle shots mounted at the bottom of a monopod and it is great in low light

Nikkor 24-120mm f/4 S

I use this lens for wide angle shots and landscape photography. It is a Nikon S-line lens and the picture quality from this lens is incredible. This is one of my favourite lenses

Nikon FTZ Mount Adapter

This mount allows me to use some of my older F-mount lenses on my modern mirrorless camera bodies

Audio

Neewer CM28 Wireless Lavalier Microphone

I use this for vlogging and it can also be used on the cameras. Excellent sound quality outdoors

Accessories

K&F Concept Aluminium Tripod

This tripod, although aluminium, is light and sturdy. It can hold up to 8 kgs and I use it for landscape photography when I’m shooting with long exposures.

PROfezzion Wireless Remote Shutter release

This remote shutter release works on both camera bodies and I mainly use it for shooting with the camera hanging off the monopod

Editing

Nikon Z6iii 24.5 MP Full frame camera

This is my 2nd camera body. I use this primarily with my 70-200mm lens to get wider angle shots and incorporate more of the environment in the shot

Nikon Z8 45.7 MP Full frame camera

This is my main camera body. The high MP count allows me to crop when I need to, and the image quality and autofocus for wildlife is incredible

Nikkor Z 85mm f/1.8 lens

I use this lens for tighter portrait shots and wildlife when they are really close. This is very sharp and gives nice out of focus backgrounds

Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG DN Art lens

I use this lens for wide angle portrait shots and vlogging. It is amazing in low light and super sharp

Rode VideoMic GO II Shotgun Mic

This is my go to (pardon the pun) mic for wildlife videography. It provides really good directional sound and superior sound quality than the standard camera mic

RODE WS12 furry windshield for GO II mic

Also called a dead-cat, this eliminates wind noise while recording outdoors

Accsoon SeeMo 4K HDMI for iPhone

This allows me to use my iPhone as a screen to replicate my camera screen. I use it for recording my camera screen in realtime and also for low level photography when the camera is hanging off the monopod

Rolanpro Waterproof lens cover

I use this lens cover to protect my 180-600mm lens from bumps and the camouflage helps to stay hidden when under a photo blind

Think Tank - Mindshift Backlight 36l backpack

The 36 litre Backlight backpack carries both my camera bodies and my 2 telephoto lenses plus my 24-120mm. The bag is very well padded, comfortable to wear and meets airline carry on regulations.

Apple MacBook Pro 16” M3 Pro Chip 36GB ram

The Apple platform works really well for my post process editing

Adobe Lightroom Classic

Lightroom is my go to program for photo editing

DXO PureRaw 4

I’ve found DXO PureRaw 4 the best for removing noise from photos without losing any sharpness or picture quality
